Introducing Sanifos to New Zealand

“We provide solutions for projects where traditional drainage options are not accessible.”

“Should architects have projects where they are unable to access traditional drainage due to either sloping properties, relatively flat terrain, or small sections, we have a range of domestic and commercial pumps that can provide an alternative, efficient and cost-effective plumbing solution,” says Graham Denysschen, National Business Development Manager for SFA New Zealand Ltd. “Saniflo products are easy to install and maintain, and they allow plumbing fixtures to be placed where they best suit the design, rather than where current plumbing points are located.”

When Teulo last caught up with Graham in 2023, Saniflo’s inground pump stations were a new focus for the business. Since then, Graham says the product category has only continued to grow. “We have seen steady growth across our Sanifos inground tank category and we are expecting a further increase in both interest and demand early next year due to the new rules around granny flats and smaller dwellings. The Government has committed to amending the Building Act and the resource consent system to make it easier to build small structures up to 60sqm, with new projects only requiring an engineer’s report. Our Sanifos inground lifting stations are an ideal plumbing solution for these dwellings, especially if they are the sole means of discharging wastewater, as they would then be required to provide storage backup in the event of a power outage, which the Sanifos inground tanks are able to provide.”

As those changes come into effect, Graham is committed to continue showcasing the business and the range of solutions that they can provide. “Growing Saniflo brand awareness will remain a priority for us in a competitive market. We are participating in a range of different training initiatives to reach design influencers through initiatives like our Teulo live webinar, along with a range of offline events with marketing agencies that allow us the opportunity to get our technical information in front of a nationwide specifier audience. We have also prepared CPD product presentations that we are planning to present to architects online monthly in 2025.”

“The Sanifos range offer the ideal combination of storage capacity, pumping capability and ease of use and installation, perfect for usage in granny flats and whole of house applications.”

One of the key messages to get out to the industry is the wraparound support that Saniflo is offering, Graham says, with a range of online resources to assist them in specifying, recommending and installing Saniflo products. “Our CPD courses offer substantial education across our range, including the Sanifos inground lifting station range. Our website also houses installation information, technical files and troubleshooting. We also have two Reseller Training courses to assist with a better understanding of the category. Currently, these tools are available on individual links; in the new year, they will all be incorporated into our new New Zealand website, which should streamline the process of finding information and support.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Graham is excited to continue spreading the word and providing detailed resources for industry professionals. “As we update and fine-tune our New Zealand website, we are prioritising case studies where industry professionals can get a real sense of our products in action. We currently have two such studies in development, one of which focuses on a multi-unit commercial development in Napier which utilises a Sanifos 1300 GR for its drainage”.
