With a background in timber machining, our founders Russell & Daniel Simpkin first came across fire doors when looking for markets to diversify into.
They recognized there was a lack of compliant fire doors on the market that were backed up by primary test evidence. So, in 2006, after coming up with our own 30-minute fire door design, Daniel decided to take a gamble and make a go of designing and manufacturing quality fire door systems for a living. It paid off. From these humble beginnings Soteria Doors has grown into a highly regarded manufacturer of high-quality fire protection products.
Daniel’s brief for the first fire doors was simple: ‘To create a tested 30-minute fire door that was reliable and met all NZ Standards fully.’ The original design and lessons learned have become the template for further product development. Our range of proprietary fire systems are designed and manufactured in house ensuring compliance every step of the way. We do things differently at Soteria Doors – we’re always on the lookout for better ways to solve the unique obstacles construction projects face, so that our customers can focus on doing what they do best.
