Event Description

Marlene Chen and Edward Lalonde from Olson Kundig

Title: Architecture and Beyond: The Unexpected Journey of Olson Kundig

Since its founding in 1966, Olson Kundig has been guided by a shared curiosity and willingness to pursue and navigate the unexpected. From its earliest days designing homes in the Pacific Northwest to working on projects around the globe, the firm has experienced considerable growth in size and scope without sacrificing this core DNA. In this presentation, principals/owners Marlene Chen and Edward Lalonde will explore Olson Kundig’s legacy of innovation, adaptation, and evolution.

They will illustrate these central considerations through the origins of the firm and individual design leaders; its foundations in residential design and how this work has created a gateway to new opportunities; and internal initiatives that have guided their trajectory and continue to inform future generations of design and leadership.

Brian Wickersham | AUX Architecture
