Teulo Talks and DK
John Eastwood - XLam
ANZ Manager
John Eastwood will talk about CLT and Mass Timber in the built environment. He will focus on the technical aspects of CLT and dfMA.
Mass timber construction (MTC) is both a new building material, using engineered wood products as the primary structural material, and a new construction process under the umbrella of prefabricated construction.
MTC is used as a substitute for steel reinforced concrete, solid section tilt-slab concrete, and steel framing. However, more frequently, the use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) is assembled alongside more traditional construction materials.
Georgios Anagnostou - Jackson Teece
Georgios brings a unique skill set to the profession having started out as a builder, which has led to a particular focus on construction technology, materiality and environmentally sustainable design.
His knowledge and influence of sustainable construction methodologies has led to the recent delivery of one of the largest applications of CLT in a multi-residential development in Australia.
Georgios has given multiple industry talks on new construction technologies and environmental design.
He has been involved in the delivery of GreenStar rated, low and zero energy buildings and developments both overseas and in Australia and is driven to continue pushing the boundaries of what is presently perceived possible in mass timber design and construction technology.
Internationally, Georgios has worked on master planning and luxury residential developments in UAE/Abu Dhabi, and Education and University projects in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
His experience also extends to mixed-use, multi-residential, retail and commercial developments as well as healthcare and community projects. Georgios will discuss mass timber and the utilisation of technology within the built sector.
