BIO:
I´m an architect and urban planner from MexicoCity, working on bringing nature back into our built environment. Through our architectural designs, urban masterplanning, workshops and data visualization in graphics and installations. Taller13.com is my design practice but have been also brewing collaborations with a broad range of practices, from agro-ecologic craft beer to supporting eco-activism and better streets, mainly through Tactical Urbanism initiatives and our info-pieces. We recently developed a habitable food forest that aims to help communal lands develop agroforestry practices. Currently working on a “Urban Regeneration” Games, to help people on the ground work better together.

Description of talk:
Always centered around life. Water as its most basic element, from watershed as graphics and art installations, and how that can inspire civil society to better their own Streets and Infrastructures. Working across disciplines and scales has taken us to the conclusion that the fundamental transformation we seek is within our immediate environment, and organized civil society is one of our best avenues to achieve it.
The transformation our systems needs to be contagious, generating a cultural transformation that inspires people to get out of their daily routine and into a new way of life that can enhance each others life, and the ecosystems that we depend upon for air, water, food.. and for relating to each other.
