Talk topic: Electronic Leak Detection

Discussion around Electronic Leak Detection about the fundamentals of what ELD testing is, the benefits of ELD testing and how it works, the rules to ELD testing, different types of ELD equipment and their limitations, why flood testing is not a sustainable method of testing and the importance of testing to an Internationally Recognised Standard – that being ASTM D7877-24 and ASTM D8231-19. We also talk about examples of failed membranes and what was the cause.

We have a centralised focus this time on Valid ELD testing and how it can be performed incorrectly giving you a clear test and yet the membrane can be full of holes; a complete failure and yet still pass.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. What is ELD testing and the advantages of it.
  2. The different forms of ELD testing with limitations and
  3. Why it is imperative to test to a Standard – Namely those Internationally Recognised Standards.
