DK talks with Lisa Sauve and Adam Smith, architects and Co-Founders of award-winning design/make architecture practice Synecdoche which has studios in Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan.

BIO: Lisa Sauve

Co-Founding Principal and CEO of Synecdoche Design Studio. Also the co-founder of StudioStudio, a modern space to create, connect, and celebrate for creatives and photographers in Ann Arbor.

Interests revolve around how the built environment can strengthen community and connection through partnerships with small businesses and creative new ways to approach development investment that results in the core mission of Do Good Work.

A licensed architect in the State of Michigan and currently serves as a planning commissioner for the City of Ann Arbor and committee chair for Art in Public at A2AC. Holds degrees for M. Arch and MSc. in Conservation from Taubman College at the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. Has also taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at University of Detroit Mercy, Lawrence Technological University and the University of Michigan Taubman College.

Co-Founding Principal and Director of Design of Synecdoche Design Studio an award winning design/make architecture practice with studios in Ann Arbor and Detroit. bor.

A licensed architect in the State of Michigan and currently serves as the Emerging Professionals Director for the AIA Huron Valley. Holds degrees for M. Arch from Taubman College at the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. Has also taught undergraduate and graduate level courses at Lawrence Technological University and the University of Michigan Taubman College.
