Event Description

Enjoy lunch and conversation with peers from across the design and construction industry, with our MC DK guiding the session.

Keynote: “Think Like a Tree” In his 20-minute talk on Biophilic Design, David Trubridge shares how we can learn from trees and forests to design healthier, more sustainable spaces.

Why Attend? This Lunch & Learn is a chance to connect with the design community, hear from an iconic New Zealand designer, and explore how we can all take steps toward a regenerative future.

Key Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of Biophilic Design and explain how nature-inspired strategies can be applied to architecture and interiors to improve wellbeing and sustainability outcomes.
  • Evaluate the role of product innovation in sustainable design, using the case study of the Dusk portable lamp to illustrate how design can support conservation initiatives and contribute to environmental regeneration.
  • Identify practical ways to engage with local and national conservation efforts, and recognise the impact that design professionals can have in advancing ecological restoration initiatives such as Recloaking Papatūānuku.
