BIO - FILIPPO NASSETTI
Filippo Nassetti is an architect and computational designer focusing on research and innovation for the architecture and product design industries.
After a Master's Degree in Architecture and Building Engineering at the University of Bologna, and work experiences at Plasma Studio Architects (London) and SPAN Architecture & Design (Vienna), in 2012 Filippo co-founded MHOX, a EU-funded start-up focused on the design of wearable products and speculative prostheses through generative techniques and 3d printing. Between 2012 and 2015 MHOX worked on a variety of product design projects ranging from the fashion to the medical industry.
In 2015 Filippo joined Zaha Hadid Architects as part of the Computation and Design team, then of Zaha Hadid Design since 2018 . His focus there is on small scale innovation projects, including sportswear and industrial products, experimental sculptures and installations.
Since 2016 he is a member of the Urban Morphogenesis Lab at UCL The Bartlett School of Architecture, where he teaches in the B-Pro Urban Design Master's Degree program.
Filippo's work has been published and exhibited internationally. He lectured at The Royal College of Arts (London), China Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing), Florida International University (Miami) among others.
The research agenda he pursues focuses on exploring the impact of technology on the evolution of the human body and its extensions, relating research on organic form, computational methods and emerging fabrication techniques, while spanning across disciplines and scales, aiming at exploring through design contemporary and future notions of human, natural and artificial, digital and material, discuss their changes, expose novel scenarios and aesthetics
Talk Topic: Generative design and 3d printing for the innovation of wearable products.
A reflection on the human body, its relationship with technology and evolution in possible futures is central to MHOX work, together with an interest in changes of the notion of nature in the digital age. Wearable products are body extensions, objects or systems that integrate the human body to mutate its aesthetic and functional potential, and this vision is explored through the production of artifacts and prototypes.
