This CPD session explores the key considerations for developing clear, robust and project-appropriate paint and coating specifications using Masterspec. It looks beyond colour and finish to examine how substrate, exposure, intended use, durability, fire performance, application method and maintenance requirements influence coating system selection.

Through practical guidance from Masterspec and Dulux specialists, the session covers general paintwork alongside protective and intumescent coatings for steel, including corrosivity categories, durability expectations and system selection. It also explores how Masterspec work sections and project-specific specification support can help specifiers clearly document coating requirements and reduce the risk of incorrect product selection or application.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
