One of the key focuses of Asma’s work is architectural humanities and critical urban studies. Asma talks a bit about what that means and how humanities should be considered in questions of architectural design and meaning. As an example, she will talk about her experiences and involvement with trans-regional, multidisciplinary, and cross-cultural European projects.
We will discover how this work is exploring the international connection between port cities and creating an interdisciplinary discussion about the future of architecture and urban design studies.
Asma explains how critical it is for a multi-disciplinary approach when it comes to designing our urban futures and will touch on her research in her home city of Tehran as well as different countries in Asia (Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai), Europe (Torino, Porto, Lisbon, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Berlin), and the US (Detroit).
