Ross will explore the deep interconnection between humans and natural ecosystems, highlighting that we are not separate from nature, but very much a part of it. With this understanding comes a shared responsibility to care for and protect our environments in ways that support both ecological health and human wellbeing.
Focusing on the power of individual action, particularly within the built environment, emphasising how thoughtful architectural decisions can create meaningful, far-reaching impacts.
Learning outcomes:
- Forests, and especially old growth native and ancient forests, are an important part of the earth's climatic function and lifecycles, and must be stewarded appropriately.
- Humans are part of these ecosystems, not apart from them, and have a responsibility to take care of them in ways that benefit all.
- Each person can influence and create change in their own world, which ripples outward - architectural decisions can be impactful when considering the big picture.
- A new appreciation and awe for forests, leaving you empowered to be able to create change through your decision-making.
