Kais Al-Rawi’s presentation will feature innovations in specialty facades and structures, showcasing digital processes from initial concept design to fabrication and construction, with a particular focus on architect-engineer collaborations to successfully and efficiently deliver large-scale projects. The presentation will include insights into a variety of materials including steel, glass, ETFE and PTFE membranes, as well composite fabrications, within a range of project typologies that include aviation, sports and civic.
Julia Koerner is an award-winning Austrian designer working at the convergence of architecture, product and fashion design, specialised in 3D-printing. She is founder of JK Design GmbH and faculty member at UCLA. Her recent collaborations include 3D-Printed Haute Couture and costumes for Hollywood blockbuster Black Panther.
Hamid Hassanzadeh is an Iranian architect, entrepreneur, researcher, and speaker. Since his graduation from architectural engineering in 2012, he has worked on multiple projects in Iran, Turkey, Russia, Kuwait, and the USA. Early in 2016, he established the ParametricArchitecture platform by starting it from Instagram. The platform, also known as PA, has become a globally recognized platform about parametric and computational design with more than +700K audience across the globe. Hamid is also founder of the PAACADEMY, an educational organization powered by ParametricArchitecture to spread the idea of computation in architecture and design. He is the host at PA Talks, and PA Live Discussions which are the interview series with architects. During the past several years, Hamid has interviewed many world-renowned architects about their works, methodologies, and their visions for the future.
Riyad Joucka (BArch, MArch AA) is an award-winning Architect, Designer, and Entrepreneur, based in Dubai. He is the Founder of MEAN* ‘Middle East Architecture Network’; an Innovative Architecture Practice, and its synergistic counterpart, MEAL* ‘Middle East Architecture Lab’, An Experimental Design Repository.
Riyad gained professional experience at international offices in the Middle East, Hong Kong, and New York. His built work features complex structures, building technologies, and contextual design that is at the nexus of technology, material research, and computation. Riyad's projects have been widely internationally published and exhibited on prestigious platforms and presented to notable organizations worldwide. He collaborated with notable brands, such as Apple, and Audi. Riyad studied architecture in Canada and the UK, where he obtained his Master's of Architecture at the AA School of Architecture in London.
