New Zealand Panels Group was founded in 2002 and has grown to become one of New Zealand’s leading interior decorative manufacturers and distributors.

While we may now be a company of 200+ people, we fiercely adhere to a small company DNA and a culture established by our founding partners. It's about caring deeply what our clients want and need, being flexible and agile, and not hampered by big company bureaucracy.

The company is the largest producer of veneer panels in the country and manufactures an extensive range of melamine panels.  Veneer and melamine panels are sold under the Prime Panels and Bestwood brands – and have Environmental Choice NZ accreditation.

Acrylic and HPL panels are also produced and sold under the Prime Panels brand along with a range of engineered stone for benchtops.   

Dezignatek is a custom manufacturer of thermoformed doors, drawers and panels provided direct to the joinery industry.  It also offers laser edgebanding services for melamine, laminate and acrylic doors.

It’s Kopine particleboard plant near Thames produces Ultralock and T&G flooring along with particleboard for use in its panel manufacturing – these also have ECNZ accreditation.

The company owns two joinery merchants – Impey’s in the North Island and Anthony Shearer in the South Island.
